G3 Red Blend 2018 fra Goose Ridge Estate, Columbia Valley, Staten Washington
The fruit for this wine was sourced from many of the premier blocks of the estate. The 2018 vintage allowed for optimal, long hang time in the vineyard. The wine was pumped over twice daily until a balance of color, structure, and flavor extraction had been achieved. Malolactic fermentation on oak smoothed and softened the wine. The wine matured for 16 months in barrels (with 30% new oak). This new world blend of Bordeaux varieties and Syrah was carefully blended
to create an expressive wine full of exotic flavor.
Expresses fresh brambly fruits with elements of fresh savory herbs and smoked, cured meats. The wine has an open, supple, and juicy volume on entry that leads into a nicely textured mouth feel of red plums and black cherries. The fruit flavors nicely with hints of spice, pepper, and wild game.
The wine finishes with lingering notes of white pepper and juicy red fruits supported by fine tannins
